Das die Schweiz in Sachen Metal auch einiges zu bieten hat, weiß man nicht erst seit Bands wie Krokus oder Gotthard. Aber im Jahr 2020 meldete sich eine neue Formation und zerlegte gleich mal das Metal Universum mit ihrem Debüt. Die Rede ist von Ad Infinitum, dem Vierer genau aus diesem Land der Berge und Heimat von Heidi und ihrem Geißen-Peter. So stellten Ad Infinitum bereits mit ihrem Erstlingswerk, welches 2020 gleich in zwei Teilen erschien unter Beweis was in ihnen steckt und heimsten von Anfang an viel Lob in der Szene ein. War Chapter One schon ein riesen Erfolg, so konnte auch Chapter Two, 2021 absolut überzeugen und zeigte das das Quartett aus der Schweiz mit ihren mythischen Erzählungen des alten Ägyptens einfach großartig ankam und kommt. Dieser Erfolg kommt aber nicht einfach so daher. Eher ist es hier so, das die unglaubliche Kombination aus Storytelling und technisch ausgefeiltem Songwriting und natürlich aus der Paarung von unglaublich raffinierten Instrumentals und Gesang beinah an Perfektion glänzen. Donnernde Drums, groovende Riffs, punktgenaue Soli sowie magische Orchester-Parts bilden das Fundament dieser betörenden Klangwelt. Zu guter Letzt, aber sorgt die unverwechselbare Stimmengewalt von Frontfrau, Melissa Bonny, die in ihrem Genre aus glasklarem Gesang und eindringlichen Growls eine echte Meisterin ist, für einen gebührenden Abschluss dieser fantastischen Formation. 2023 nun erscheint das neue Album mit dem Namen, Chapter Three – Downfall. Und so setzt sich die bereits über zwei Kapitel laufende Geschichte auch im dritten Teil nahtlos fort und setzt mit seinen zwölf neuen Songs genau dort an. Wo Teil zwei aufhörte. Bereits der Opener Eternal Rains stellt klar, das auch im dritten Anlauf keine Gefangenen gemacht werden und hier jeder Fan des Genres voll auf seine Kosten kommen wird. So spielen sich AD Infinitum beinah spielerisch durch die Fortsetzung ihrer raffiniert, fantastisch arrangierten Geschichte und werden unter Garantie auf mit Chapter III den wohl verdienten Lob für ein weiteres Werk in ihrer Bandgeschichte, und auch in der Welt des Symphonic Metals erhalten. The fact that Switzerland also has a lot to offer when it comes to metal has not only been known since bands like Krokus or Gotthard. But in 2020 a new formation announced itself and immediately dismantled the metal universe with their debut. We're talking about Ad Infinitum, the foursome from this country of mountains and home of Heidi and her goat Peter. With their debut work, which was released in two parts in 2020, Ad Infinitum proved what they were made of and received a lot of praise from the scene right from the start. While Chapter One was already a huge success, Chapter Two, 2021 was also absolutely convincing and showed that the quartet from Switzerland with their mythical tales of ancient Egypt was and is simply great. But this success doesn't come easily. Rather, it's the case here that the incredible combination of storytelling and technically sophisticated songwriting and of course the pairing of incredibly sophisticated instrumentals and vocals almost shine at perfection. Thundering drums, grooving riffs, precise solos and magical orchestral parts form the foundation of this beguiling world of sound. Last but not least, the unmistakable vocal power of frontwoman Melissa Bonny, who is a real master in her genre of crystal-clear vocals and haunting growls, provides a fitting conclusion to this fantastic formation. In 2023 the new album called Chapter Three – Downfall will be released. And so the story, which already has two chapters, continues seamlessly in the third part and starts right there with its twelve new songs. Where part two left off. The opener Eternal Rains already makes it clear that no prisoners are taken on the third attempt and that every fan of the genre will get their money's worth here. AD Infinitum play their way almost playfully through the continuation of their sophisticated, fantastically arranged story and are guaranteed to receive the well-deserved praise for another work in their band history, and also in the world of symphonic metal, with Chapter III. We give this work full marks and a purchase recommendation, which has been available in several versions since Friday March 31, 2023.
