Bonfire ist eine deutsche Hard-Rock-Band. Sie wurde in Ingolstadt 1972 von Hans Ziller unter dem Namen Cacumen gegründet und 1986 in Bonfire umbenannt. Zeitweise glaubte man, das Bonfire die zweiten Scorpions werden würden. Doch gingen die Wege der deutschen Hard Rock und Heavy Metal Größen früher oder später doch eher unterschiedliche Wege. Trotz sehr vieler Wechsel im Bandgefüge, existiert Bonfire noch heute. Sie veröffentlichten bisher 22 Studioalben.
2023 nun wird ein weiteres Kapitel geschrieben. Aber lest selbst…
Das Project MMXXIII" (2023) von der deutschen Hard Rock Band "Bonfire" beinhaltet insgesamt 36! Tracks, welche Re-Recorded sind. Das heißt, es sind fast alle Titel enthalten, die es schon auf ihren 3 ältesten Alben: "Point Black", "Don't touch the light" oder "Fireworks" gab und die als 2023er Version neu aufgelegt wurden. Es ist faktisch ein 3-in-1 Album. Das Album fängt sehr angenehm an, denn die Band nutzt zunächst ein knapp 1,5-minütiges, episches Intro um sich auf die kommenden Songs einstzustellen. Top gelungen! Nahtlos ist dann auch der Übergang zum 2. Track, der die Atmosphäre weiterführt. Die Songgeschwindigkeit ist "gemütlich rockig" gehalten mit Ausnahme des 4. Tracks "You make me feel"; 11. Tracks "Who's foolin who" und 34. Tracks "Give it a try", denn dies sind die jeweiligen Balladen auf den 3 Alben, die ziemlich angenehm ins Ohr gehen und welche man sich auch gern nochmal anhören möchte. Die anderen Songs sind alle recht abwechslungsreich aber generell bleibt der Hard Rock Stil jeweils erhalten. Ob es sich hierbei um ein wirkliches Remake oder "nur" ein Remaster der alten Songs handelt, muss jeder für sich selbst entscheiden, dennoch - interessant sind sie allemal und bei dem einen oder anderen Song kommt auch der starkgewünschte Aha-Effekt auf, denn Fans kennen die Songs mit Sicherheit. Soundtechnisch ist diese "Neuauflage" der 3 Alben viel klarer und weitaus technisch ausgefeilter, Volumenbetonter und satter, als es damals 1986, bei dem Album "Dont Touch the light" möglich war. Aber vielleicht liegt genau hier der Reiz, denn ältere Fans würden das 2023er Album möglicherweise als "Weichgespühlt" ansehen, da der Biss eben damals ein anderer war. Die knackigen Riffs und die atmosphärischen Soundschnipsel beispielsweise bei der alten Version von dem Song "Don't touch the light" wirken atmosphärisch ganz anders, haben eine ganz andere Komposition als es bei dieser neuen Fassung der Fall ist. Interessant wird es dann, wenn man sich zu jedem "neuartigen" Song, die alte Version parallel anhört, sofern man sie nicht schon kennt. Aber da entscheidet jeder Hörer ganz individuell.
Im Ganzen lässt sich festhalten, dass dieses Album einen volleren Sound innehat und eine interessante Interpretationen der älteren Songs bietet.

The project Mmxxiii" (2023) from the German Hard Rock Band "Bonfire" has a total of 36! Tracks that are re-recorded. This means that there are almost all titles that were already on their 3 oldest albums: "Point Black", "Don't Touch the Light" or "Fireworks" and which were reissued as 2023 version. In fact, it is a 3-in-1 album. The album starts very pleasant, because the band uses an almost 1.5-minute, epic intro to put on the upcoming songs. Successful! The transition to the 2nd track, which continues the atmosphere, is seamless. The song speed is "cozy rock" with the exception of the 4th track "You Make Me Feel"; 11. Tracks "Who's Foolin Who" and 34. Tracks "Give IT A Try", because these are the respective ballads on the 3 albums, which are pretty pleasant in the ear and which you would also like to listen to again. The other songs are all quite varied, but generally the hard rock style is preserved. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether this is a real remake or "only" a remaster of the old songs, but - they are always interesting and the strong eye effect also arises with one or the other song, because fans Know the songs for sure. In terms of sound technology, this "new edition" of the 3 albums is much clearer and much more technically sophisticated, volume -concrete and more sowing when it was possible in the album "Dont Touch the Light" in 1986. But maybe here is the attraction, because older fans would possibly see the 2023 album as "soft", since it was just different back then. The crunchy riffs and the atmospheric sound snippets, for example, look at the old version of the song "Don't Touch the Light", atmospherically, have a completely different composition than is the case with this new version. It becomes interesting when you listen to the old version in parallel for every "new" song, provided you don't already know it. But every listener decides individually. Overall, it can be stated that this album has a full sound and offers interesting interpretations of the older songs.
