Verdammt schwere und düstere Kost, gibt es hier zu beurteilen und später dann hoffentlich für euch zu verköstigen. Wenn Schwedens Ausnahme-Black Metal Formation, Shining zum „Tanz“ bittet, dann wissen längst nicht nur eingefleischte Fans der Band, das es etwas extrem feines geben wird. Die bereits im Jahre 1996 gegründete Band, feiert mit der heutigen Veröffentlichung ihres elften Albums, welches einfach nur Shining betitelt wurde, eine neue Ära ihres Seins und Könnens. Zwar steht Shining voll und ganz unter dem Banner des Black Metals, und da lassen die Herren auch nicht mit sich diskutieren. Und dennoch experimentiert man nach wie vor gern und gezielt auch mit klassischen Klängen. Verirrt sich plötzlich im Jazz oder dem Progressive Rock. Doch stets alles schön passend und Punktgenau. So entstand ein Werk, welches es nicht über die Länge von sechs neuen Nummern hinaus schafft. Ihr lest richtig. Es sind nur sechs neue Songs auf dem Album, aber selbige haben es nicht nur musikalisch in sich. Die kürzeste Nummer mit Namen, Attahundratjugo, mit Drei Minuten Einundzwanzig, teilt sich seinen Platz mit Songs wie Allt för Döden, welches eine Hommage an niemand geringeren als den Tod darstellt, der eine Gesamtspielzeit von Elf Minuten, Achtzehn hat. So kommt am Ende doch eine gewünschte Spielzeit, die sich für ein echtes Langeisen ziemt, zustande. Inhaltlich und Textlich, bewegt sich Shining nach wie vor in einer düsteren Welt zwischen Dunkelheit und Hypnose. Shining sind und bleiben ein eindringender und alles beherrschender Albtraum aus düsterem Schrecken. Genau diese Atmosphäre macht die Band und ihr Schaffen über die Jahrzehnte hinaus so einzigartig. Und dies beweisen sie mit ihrem selbstbetitelten Album, Shining, noch einmal auf glanzvolle Art und Weise. Wir wünschen beste, schaurigste und vor allem Düsterste Unterhaltung.
Damn heavy and dark fare, you can judge it here and then hopefully taste it for you later. When Sweden's exceptional black metal formation, Shining, asks you to "dance", then not only die-hard fans of the band know that there will be something extremely fine. The band, founded in 1996, is celebrating a new era of being and ability with today's release of their eleventh album, simply titled Shining. Shining is completely under the banner of black metal, and the guys don't allow themselves to be discussed. And yet people still like to experiment with classical sounds. Suddenly gets lost in jazz or progressive rock. But everything always fits beautifully and precisely. The result is a work that does not make it past the length of six new numbers. You read that right. There are only six new songs on the album, but they are not just musically impressive. The shortest number by name, Attahundratjugo, at three minutes twenty-one, shares its space with songs like Allt för Döden, which is a tribute to none other than Death, which has a total playing time of eleven minutes, eighteen. In the end, the desired playing time is achieved, which is befitting a real long iron. In terms of content and lyrics, Shining still moves in a dark world between darkness and hypnosis. The Shining are and remain an invading and all-controlling nightmare of dark terror. It is precisely this atmosphere that makes the band and their work so unique over the decades. And they prove this once again in a brilliant way with their self-titled album, Shining. We wish you the best, scariest and, above all, darkest entertainment.
