Rezension by Fenria Streetteam Berlin

Mein Fazit, Hol wech und up to the Sea…

If you like rocking and classic folk, you can't ignore Storm Seeker since 2019 and the debut, Beneath In The Cold. At the latest with their second album, Guns don’t cry, the troupe from nautical Neuss in beautiful Good old Germany made their breakthrough in the scene. When you published your first Folk and Shanty Seassions on your own YouTube channel and the reactions of the fans screamed for more, it was clear you had to make something special out of this. Exactly this special is now available to our dear listeners in the form of the album Calm Seas Vol. One. With this work, Storm Seeker present classics of the folk scene as well as their own interpretations in their very own guise. Thus, the band presents itself in a completely new light, which does not ultimately lead to singer and frontman Timothy taking up the guitar himself. A ship's piano, hurdy-gurdy, nykelharpa and cello were brought in for the production, which makes the recordings all the more authentic. In this way, the team succeeds in giving the listener the feeling of being in the middle of an old schooner or in the middle of a classic pirate tavern in a playful way. The mood couldn't have been better in its time and is transported into the here and now at all times of the album. For me a damn successful piece of music, which calls for more on one side and a live presentation on the other, as soon as this is possible again. My conclusion, Hol wech and up to the Sea ...
