Rezension by Fenria Streetteam Berlin

Was also soll man mit der nun entstandenen unfreiwilligen „Freizeit“ anfangen?

Two years have passed since the last album, Artificial Extinction. Two years marked by a virus and pandemics. Two years in which the artists' guild in particular could not play live. So what should you do with the involuntary “free time” that has now arisen? It's easy to tinker with new tracks, sounds and beats in the dark basement. That's exactly what the two Mexican cousins did. Now that something is slowly coming back to life and things are heading towards normality, Hocico present their new material in the form of the CD, HyperViolent. And like almost everything that bears the name Hocico, HyperViolent comes in the usual aggressive electro beat of the gentlemen and proves again why they have been at the top of the scene for years. Dark atmosphere spreads. Pounding beats crash out of the speakers and are carried by the band's typical rhythm. No fan misses out here. Nothing is missing here. You quickly get caught up in the magic of the beats and celebrate song after song, during which your feet rarely come to a standstill. Hocico seduce again into a dark world and let all anger and aggression run free. However, the recent collaboration with Lord of the Lost or Ostfront has left its mark. So in songs like N-W.O. or the bonus track Weapons of Resistance the guitars clearly have their say. And Crown of Knifes is a real Trash Metal cracker, which will probably suddenly punch one or the other fan out of Hocico's own listening gear. For me one of the most surprising songs that I would have expected from the side project Rabia Sorda. Anyway, I wish you a lot of fun with this real cracker.
