Rezension by Fenria Streetteam Berlin

Metal Up! And Bang your Heads…

Just like Best of compilations, live albums are always something for me and certainly for many of my colleagues and always present a challenge. Best of albums in particular usually have such a bitter aftertaste that the artists in question probably lack new material and the approaching swan song always resonates. Live albums, on the other hand, are always questionable because, on the one hand, there is also a small best of and, on the other hand, the attempt has to be made to convey the mood of a live concert as closely as possible to reality. But it is actually the case that one or the other band manages to present this spirit of live events on sound carriers, no matter what kind, in such a way that the listener can also feel it. Now with more than thirty years of band history, in which eight studio albums have been released and the sufficient experience, one could certainly trust Enherjer from Finland with this undertaking. And the four gentlemen did it too. Wasn't really to be expected in any way, was it? With Norse and Dangerous, the men present their unique Viking Metal Live just as brutally as on any sound carrier and thus create a mood in the large fan base and worldwide. So it's no wonder that this live album, recorded during the release show for her last studio album North Star (2021) in her hometown of Haugesund on February 26th and 27th, 2021, is also convincing across the board. Here the sound just cracks out of the speakers. There the fans and spectators celebrate and you, the listeners on the ether, celebrate with you. A live album must and should be presented in this way and no other way. So if you can't follow an Enherjer concert as a guest in the near future, you have the opportunity to console yourself at least a bit and to celebrate your heroes with Norse and Dangerous. Metal Up! And bang your heads…
