Rezension by Fenria Streetteam Berlin

The Wonders Still Awaiting, sehnsüchtig erwartet. Zum Beispiel der Song „You Will Never Be Our God“ (feat.

The fans of the German symphonic metal band, Xandria, had to wait six long years for their eighth studio album. Although they were on the road live after the pandemic and once again presented their skills on stage, the work that had now been published by name, The Wonders Still Awaiting, was eagerly awaited. So now the time has come and the fans of the band as well as fans of the scene can finally go off to thirteen fat new numbers. And how they are allowed to do that! If someone opens a new and at the same time great chapter in their band's history and thus, in our opinion, is clearly on the road to success, then it's Xandria. You can feel from the first sounds how much the new formation of the band has been strengthened by singer Ambre Vourvahis, Robert Klawonn (guitar), Tim Schwarz (bass) and Dimitrios Gatsios (drums). Marco Heubaum – Guitar, everything done right. Xandria show themselves from their best and strongest side and once again clearly prove their place as an icon of German symphonic metal with the new material. For example, the song "You Will Never Be Our God" (feat. Primal Fear frontman Ralf Scheepers) makes it clear where the journey is going in terms of hardness. The first single, Reborn, was already more than convincing in advance and made the interest in the album almost unbearable. The wait was more than worth it. Hard, driving riffs paired with symphonic sounds, razor-sharp guitar parts and the unmistakable vocals of singer Ambre Vourvahis make The Wonders Still Awaiting a real listening pleasure. Thirteen numbers that don't have to hide behind any big names on the global scene. In addition to a 40-piece classical choir, authentic Celtic instruments, as well as cello and violin contributions from Subway to Sally's Ally Storch, the new album is perfectly complemented by the well-known Bulgarian children's choir from national radio BNR. None other than Lukas Knöbl, who is known for his collaborations with Hollywood stars like Roland Emmerich, is responsible for the orchestration of the album. (This is how our colleagues in the press supplement their reports). And we, the Streetteam Berlin, fully agree and wish you a special kind of listening pleasure and a lot of fun with this incredible album.
