Elysion’s viertes Album, zählt man die EP, Killing my Dreams, seit ihrem Debüt von 2009 mit dem Namen, Silent Scream, darf gern als das bisher ausgereifteste Werk in der Bandgeschichte bezeichnet werden. Man spürt die Veränderung des Sounds genauso wie das heranreifen dieser einzigartigen Formation. Text und Inhaltlich haben sich Elysion, wie so viele Kollegen im Musikgeschäft auch, von den Veränderungen unserer Zeit, die besonders durch ein kleines Virus und den damit einhergehenden Veränderungen beeinflussen lassen. Dies tut ihrem Sound aber erst recht sehr gut. So kommt ihre Botschaft, die sich stets auf der Suche nach dem eigentlichen Ich der Menschheit befindet noch klarer zum Ausdruck. Den eigentlich hat die Menschheit bereits versagt und alles falsch gemacht was nur falsch gemacht werden kann. Doch irgendwo ganz tief im Innern ist er noch vorhanden der Funke des Ursprünglichen, und genau den versuchen Elysion mit ihrer Musik und ihren Texten zu erwecken. Dies tun sie mit perfekt inszeniertem Metal gepaart mit einer außergewöhnlichen Frontfrau, die die sich mit viel Gefühl und dennoch klaren Aussagen durch die insgesamt zehn unverwechselbaren Stücke des Albums singt. An dieser Stelle also ein großes Lob an Christinna Hatzimihali, die auch auf diesem Album wirklich alles gibt, was aber auch ihre Kollegen an den Instrumenten zutrifft. Somit ist Elysion einmal mehr der Beweis, das guter Metal nicht zwingend aus den USA, England, Deutschland oder dem hohen Norden kommen muss. Auch Griechenland hat hier einiges zu bieten. Und deshalb können wir das aktuell erschienene Album nur empfehlen und wünschen allen Hören genauso viel Spaß wie wir ihn haben.
Elysion's fourth album, counting the EP, Killing My Dreams, named since their 2009 debut, Silent Scream, can easily be described as the most mature work in the band's history to date. You can feel the change in the sound as well as the maturing of this unique formation. In terms of text and content, Elysion, like so many colleagues in the music business, have been influenced by the changes of our time, which are particularly influenced by a small virus and the changes that come with it. But this is really good for their sound. In this way, their message, which is always in search of the real I of humanity, is expressed even more clearly. Humanity has actually already failed and done everything wrong that can only be done wrong. But somewhere deep inside there is still the spark of the original, and that's exactly what Elysion are trying to awaken with their music and lyrics. They do this with perfectly staged metal paired with an extraordinary front woman, who sings her way through the ten unmistakable tracks on the album with a lot of feeling and yet clear statements. So at this point a big compliment to Christinna Hatzimihali, who really gives everything on this album, which also applies to her colleagues on the instruments. Thus, Elysion is once again the proof that good metal doesn't necessarily have to come from the USA, England, Germany or the far north. Greece also has a lot to offer here. And that's why we can only recommend the currently released album and wish everyone listening to it as much fun as we have it.
