Sein wahrhaftiges Monsterwerk lieferte Mr. Lordi samt Band im Jahr 2021 ab. Denn genau in diesem Jahr veröffentlichte man mit dem bis dato zwölften Album mit Namen, Lordiversity, ein Werk, welches aus unglaublichen sieben einzelnen Alben bestand und sich daran machte eine Geschichte zu erzählen und darzustellen, als gäbe es die Formation bereits seit Jahrzehnten. Jedes der sieben Alben beschrieb damals musikalisch die jeweiligen Glanzpunkte der einzelnen Jahrzehnte, wie Disco, Pop, Rock, Grung usw. Ein einmaliges und irgendwie faszinierendes Werk. Nun, knapp zwei Jahre später erscheint bereits der nächste Streich. Zwischenzeitlich gab es wie schön so oft personelle Wechsel. Neue Monster wurden erfunden und selbige stehen nun auf der Bühne und bedienen die Instrumente. Screem Writers Guide, wie das nun dreizehnte Album heißt, erzählt eine weitere Gruselgeschichte, wie man sie von Lordi gewohnt ist. Diesmal ist es zwar kein Konzeptalbum wie der Meister selbst sagt, spielt aber auf eine Vereinigung amerikanischer Hollywood-Drehbuchautoren an und behandelt inhaltlich dann doch im Ganzen das Thema des Films. Und zwar des Horrorfilms. Wie sollte es auch anders sein. Auf dem neuen werk sind gleich zwei interessante Neuerungen zu hören. Zum einen hört man erstmalig in der Geschichte der Band tatsächlich alle Mitglieder im Background im Gesang. Zum anderen ist der neue Mann, Kone, erstmalig auf einem Album an der Gitarre zu hören. Sein Können darf er auch gleich in einem etwas längeren Solo im Song , Lucifer Prime Evil, bei dem er eindrucksvoll von Kollegin, Hella, an den Keyboards, begleitet wird. Im großen und ganzen, kann man sagen, dass das neue Werk zwar keine Überraschungen bereit hält, aber durchaus zu den besseren Alben der Band gezählt werden darf. Mit gleich zwei Balladen, bei denen besonders, The Bride, mit seinen Ozzy Osbourne Anleihen, punkten kann ist das Werk sehr unterhaltsam und wird nie langweilig. Auf alle Fälle darf man sich bei der gerade anstehenden Tour auf einiges neues Material freuen, welches ganz sicher wieder seinen Weg in die Herzen der Fans finden wird. Gut gemacht Mr. Lordi. Wieder einmal kann man sagen, das sie und ihre Band ihr Ziel erreicht haben und mit Screem Writers Guide ein weiteres gelungenes Album abliefern. Hierfür vergeben wir sehr gern zehn Punkte. Nun, manchmal zahlt Beständigkeit sich eben doch aus. Und seien wir doch mal ehrlich, das Konzept für Lordi wurde für die Ewigkeit geschrieben. Also warum etwas ändern, was funktioniert. Gern weiter so…
Mr. Lordi and his band delivered his true monster work in 2021. Because exactly in this year they released their twelfth album with a name, Lordiversity, a work that consisted of an incredible seven individual albums and set out to tell and present a story as if the formation had existed for decades. Each of the seven albums described the musical highlights of the individual decades, such as disco, pop, rock, grunge, etc. A unique and somehow fascinating work. Well, almost two years later, the next prank appears. In the meantime, as is so often the case, there have been personnel changes. New monsters were invented and they are now on stage and operate the instruments. Screem Writers Guide, as the now thirteenth album is called, tells another scary story, as one is used to from Lordi. This time it's not a concept album as the master himself says, but it alludes to an association of American Hollywood screenwriters and the content then deals with the theme of the film as a whole. Namely the horror film. How else could it be. Two interesting innovations can be heard on the new work. For one thing, for the first time in the band's history, you can actually hear all the members singing in the background. On the other hand, the new man, Kone, can be heard on the guitar for the first time on an album. He can also use his skills in a slightly longer solo in the song, Lucifer Prime Evil, in which he is impressively accompanied by his colleague, Hella, on the keyboards. All in all, one can say that the new work doesn't hold any surprises in store, but it can definitely be counted among the band's better albums. With two ballads, in which The Bride in particular scores points with its Ozzy Osbourne borrowings, the work is very entertaining and never gets boring. In any case, you can look forward to some new material on the upcoming tour, which will definitely find its way into the hearts of the fans again. Well done Mr Lordi. Once again it can be said that she and her band have achieved their goal and deliver another successful album with Screem Writers Guide. We are happy to award ten points for this. Well, sometimes persistence pays off. And let's face it, Lordi's concept was written to last. So why change something that works. Keep it up...
