Die im Jahr 2000 in Schweden gegründete Progressive Metal Band, Loch Vostok, melden sich mit ihrem zweiten Teil, ihrer musikalischen Trilogie, zurück. Der zweite Teil, mit Namen, Opus Ferox II – Mark oft he Beast, setzt genau dort an, wo Teil Eins, Open Ferox – The Great Escape, endete. Wenn man sich bei dieser Formation auf etwas verlassen kann, dann ist es wohl das, dass es verdammt schwer sein dürfte die Herren auf irgendetwas festzumachen. Seit 2000 mit nun mehr acht Studioalben im Gepäck unterwegs, war jedes Album ein weiteres neues Experiment. Zwar hält sich auch Loch Vostock an ein paar Regeln, so trifft stehts Geschwindigkeit auf Rhythmus. Gewalt auf Gefühl, aber eben auch Experiment auf Experiment. Wenn man also den Worten eines Teddy Müllers Vertrauen schenkt, so ist bei Loch Vostok tatsächlich alles möglich. So bekommt der werte Hörer auch mit dem neuen Album ein neues Abenteuer serviert, welches trotz der Experimentierfreude des Fünfers irgendwie sofort seinen weg in den Hörgang findet und dort vorerst verweilt. Interessant wie die Mannen hier erneut die unterschiedlichsten Styles gekonnt vereinen. Der ebenfalls angenehm zu erwähnende Gesang von Frontmann Jonas Radehorn sollte hier aber ebenso beachtet werden, wie die überragende instrumentale Leistung seiner Kollegen. Das neue Werk enthält zehn neue Songs, die das Interesse auf mehr wecken und jeder für sich von Anfang an Spaß machen. Sehr gut. Weiter so. Von uns gibt es hier den Daumen Hoch !

Loch Vostok, the progressive metal band founded in Sweden in 2000, are back with the second part of their musical trilogy. The second part, called Opus Ferox II - Mark of the Beast, picks up exactly where part one, Open Ferox - The Great Escape, ended. If there's one thing you can rely on with this band, it's that it's damn hard to pin them down to anything. With eight studio albums under their belt since 2000, each album has been another new experiment. Loch Vostok also stick to a few rules, so speed always meets rhythm. Violence meets emotion, but also experiment meets experiment. If you trust the words of Teddy Müller, anything is possible with Loch Vostock. The new album offers the listener a new adventure which, despite the five-piece's love of experimentation, somehow immediately finds its way into the auditory canal and stays there for the time being. It's interesting how the men once again skillfully combine the most diverse styles. The pleasant vocals of frontman Jonas Radehorn should also be mentioned here, as should the outstanding instrumental performance of his colleagues. The new album contains ten new songs that arouse interest in more and are fun to listen to from the very beginning. Very good. Keep up the good work. We give this one a thumbs up!
