Eine der wohl weltweit zurzeit erfolgreichsten Heavy Metal Bands, Powerwolf, bereiten sich gerade auf ihre erste komplette Nord Amerika Tour vor. Diesem Großereignis folgt dann gleich im Anschluss ihre bisher größte Europa Tour, die Wolfsnächten 2024. Wie kann eine Band wie Powerwolf, die sowohl Albumtechnisch als auch Live, so gut wie jeden Preis abräumt, besser ein solch großes Livevorhaben promoten, wenn nicht direkt durch ein neues Studioalbum? Na dann lassen wir es doch mal so richtig krachen, dachten sich die Wolfskrieger und hauen just in dieser Woche, um genau zu sein am Freitag den 26.7.2024 ihr nun mehr, neunzehntes (incl. Live Alben) raus. Mit Wake up the Wicked, überraschen Powerwolf erneut ihre Hörerschaft. Zwar bleibt man sich augenscheinlich treu, was den beliebt bekannten Style betrifft, und doch geht man einen weiteren Schritt vorwärts und fügt dem altbewerten, neue Effekte hinzu. So klingen Powerwolf frischer als je zuvor. Auch hat man etwas mehr an Härte den neuen Songs hinzugemischt, was dem Sound sehr gut tut. So erhält der gewillte Fan und Hörer elf neue Hymnen, die es spielend schaffen sich ihren Weg quer durch den Gehörgang, in die ziemlich schnell mitwippenden Beine zu finden. Von dort, bis zum ausgelassenen Tanz und Headbanging ist es nur ein winziger Schritt, der schnell überwunden ist. So ist man verdammt schnell mitten drin im eigenen Metalfest. Wie nicht anders zu erwarten überraschen Powerwolf mit Hymen, Chören und mächtig viel Power. Da freut sich das Metalerherz noch einmal so sehr auf die anstehenden Liveauftritte der Wölfe. Was soll man also weiter sagen als, Leute kauft, das Album und feiert es Live auf den anstehenden Tourneen von Powerwolf. Von uns gibt es die Bestmarke von Zehn und einen fetten Glückwunsch an die Band für ein weiteres grandioses Album.
Das Album erscheint gleich in drei unterschiedlichen Versionen. Version Eins : Wake up the Wicked CD oder Vinyl. Version zwei : Wake up the Wicked plus Live in New York (Bonus CD) und Version drei : Wake up the Wicked plus Live in New York (Bonus CD) plus Wake up the Wicked Symphonic Version (Bonus CD)

One of the world's most successful heavy metal bands at the moment, Powerwolf, are currently preparing for their first full North American tour. This major event will be immediately followed by their biggest European tour to date, Wolfsnächten 2024. How can a band like Powerwolf, who have won almost every award both live and on record, better promote such a major live project if not directly with a new studio album? Well, let's really let it rip, thought the wolf warriors and just this week, to be precise on Friday 26.7.2024, they are releasing their now nineteenth (incl. live albums). With Wake up the Wicked, Powerwolf once again surprise their listeners. Although they obviously remain true to their well-known style, they take another step forward and add new effects to the old ones. Powerwolf sound fresher than ever before. They have also added a bit more heaviness to the new songs, which is very good for the sound. The result is eleven new anthems for the willing fan and listener, which easily find their way through the ear canal and into the legs, which bounce along quite quickly. From there, it's only a tiny step to exuberant dancing and headbanging, which is quickly overcome. So you're quickly in the middle of your own metal festival. As you would expect, Powerwolf surprise you with anthems, choirs and lots of power. This makes the metal heart look forward to the upcoming live performances of the wolves even more. So what else can you say but, buy the album and celebrate it live on Powerwolf's upcoming tours. We give it the best mark of ten and a big congratulations to the band for another great album.
