Ihre Karriere begannen die Herren aus Barcelona bereits im Jahr 1999, damals allerdings noch unter dem Namen, Jadde. Heute sind sie unter dem Namen Kilmara bekannt, unter dem sie seit 2004 bereits vier Studioalben, zwei Demo Bänder und fünf Singles veröffentlichten. Spätestens mit ihrem 2018er Album, Across the Realm of Time, welches eine Kehrtwende des bisherigen Styles der Bind in einer Einhundertachtzig-Gradwende darstellte, steht der Weg fest, den man von nun an gehen will. Powermetal gepaart mit Retrowave- Synthy- Basen, die vor Power nur so strotzen. Das dieses Konzept tatsächlich funktioniert, davon konnten sich Fans und Kritiker bereits auf dem erwähnten Longplayer von 2018 überzeugen. Jetzt legt Kilmara noch eine Schippe Oben drauf und kommt mit frischer Verstärkung in Form von Drummer, Killer Lethal und Producer, Gitarrist und Keyboarder, Carles Sales, mit neuem Album zurück. Lethal trägt hierbei seinen „Namen“ Killer nicht ohne Grund. Der Typ ist ein echtes Tier hinter der Schießbude, welches dem neuen Werk erst so richtig die nötige brachiale Härte verpasst. Carles Sales produzierte im Hauseigenen Studio zusammen mit, Seeb Levermann (Orden Ogan, Angus MCSIX, Rhapsody of Fire und Riot V) und verlieh dem Album den bestmöglichen Schliff. Was soll da noch schiefgehen? Nichts! Die zehn neuen Songs sind allesamt rasiermesserscharfe Brecher, die die Szene des Powermetals mit ziemlicher Sicherheit etwas durchschütteln werden. So darf das Jahr sehr gern beginnen. Wir für unseren Teil sind begeistert und freuen uns bereits die Herren Live erleben zu dürfen. Hier darf man gespannt sein, wo die weitere Reise noch hinführen wird.
Bis es nun also auch Live kräftig zur Sache gehen wird, erfreuen wir uns aber vorerst am neuen Werk, welches Inhaltlich davon erzählt, wozu der Mensch alles in der Lage ist, solange er nur zusammensteht. Eine Reise, die in einer fernen vergangenen Zeit beginnt und bis in das hier und jetzt erzählt und dabei auf immer neue Herausforderungen trifft. Der Elektrosound der Band gibt der Musik noch einmal seinen ganz persönlichen Charm und versetzt teilweise zurück in die guten alten Achtziger.

The guys from Barcelona began their career back in 1999, albeit under the name Jadde at the time. Today they are known as Kilmara, under which they have released four studio albums, two demo tapes and five singles since 2004. With their 2018 album, Across the Realm of Time, which represented an about-turn in the Bind's previous style in a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree turnaround, the path they want to take from now on is clear. Power metal paired with retrowave synthy bases that are bursting with power. Fans and critics were already able to see for themselves that this concept actually works on the aforementioned 2018 longplayer. Now Kilmara is going one better and is returning with fresh reinforcements in the form of drummer, Killer Lethal and producer, guitarist and keyboardist, Carles Sales, with a new album. Lethal doesn't bear his “name” Killer for no reason. The guy is a real animal behind the drum kit, which gives the new album the necessary brute force. Carles Sales produced the album in the band's own studio together with Seeb Levermann (Orden Ogan, Angus MCSIX, Rhapsody of Fire and Riot V) and gave the album the best possible polish. What could possibly go wrong? Nothing! The ten new songs are all razor-sharp crushers that will almost certainly shake up the power metal scene. This is a great way to start the year. For our part, we are thrilled and are already looking forward to experiencing the gentlemen live. It will be interesting to see where their journey will take them next.
For the time being, however, we can enjoy the new work, which tells the story of what people are capable of as long as they stick together. A journey that begins in a distant past and continues into the here and now, constantly encountering new challenges along the way. The band's electro sound gives the music its own personal charm and takes you back to the good old eighties.
