Album Nummer Neunzehn, in Zahlen 19! Leute, die Band gibt es jetzt sei wann? Ja, genau richtig, seit 1992, also seit Dreiundzwanzig Jahren. Das heißt also, zieht man die ersten Zehn Jahre, in denen es immer wieder versucht wurde einen Plattenvertrag zu ergattern, was allerdings stets scheiterte, ab, dann hat man tatsächlich jedes Jahr, wenigstens, ein neues Album am Start. Das allein ist bereits eine unglaubliche Leistung. Dazu kommt noch die vielen Erfolge und Auszeichnungen, die nicht etwa bei Ihrem Sieg des ESC im Jahr 2006. Ausverkaufte Konzerte und unzählige Verkaufsergebnisse von Alben, Singles, Games, einem Film und vieles mehr, zeigen eine klare Erfolgsgeschichte. Dazu gesellen sich die beeindruckenden Liveshows, die natürlich schon allein durch die Monster selbst immer wieder einen Genuss darstellen. Seit einigen Jahren ist man nun bemüht jedem Album auf die eine oder andere Art und Weise stets eine zusammenhängende Geschichte zu verpassen. Auch huldigt man die vergangenen musikalischen Jahrzehnte. Und stellte hier gar eine Collection zusammen, die so tat, als gäbe es die Formation schon viel Länger und so stellte man Alben zusammen die genau so klangen als ob man sich einmal quer durch alle Jahrzehnte gespielt hätte. Das Mr. Lordi, Kopf, Ideengeber und Gründer ein großer Fan der Achtziger Jahre ist, und hier besonders auf den Sound des guten alten Heavy Metals abfährt, ist auch kein Geheimnis mehr. Lordi, so auch der Name der Band um die es hier geht.
Lordi veröffentlichen nun als ihr Neunzehntes Studioalbum. Der Name Limited Deadition. Wieder ein Album, welches nicht allzu ernst genommen werden sollte, und doch einen verdammt coolen und genau überlegten Hintergrund trägt. Wie wäre es, wenn die Monster Superhelden wären, lautet hier die Frage. Aus dieser Frage heraus entstand nun genau das was ab sofort in den Verkaufsregalen ausliegt. Was den Sound und die Songs betrifft, gehen Lordi Stur ihren vor einer Ewigkeit eingeschlagenen Weg weiter und spielen das was man von ihnen erwartet. Staighten Hard Rock und Heavy Metal, der in seiner Art einfach an die guten alten Achtziger erinnern muss und dies auch knallhart tut. Nun kann man sagen, irgendwie fehlt mir der ganz große Knaller auf dem Album, die eine herausragende Nummer, die eigentlich auf jedem bisher veröffentlichten Album zu finden ist. Hey, liebe Leser und Hörer, warum erfreut man sich nicht am ganzen Konzept so wie ich. Wenn ich gerade die Rezis der „Anderen“ lese, dann schwingt die Kritik sehr stark mit, das es Lordi nur noch um Kommerz geht. Ich sehe das etwas anders. Das neue Album mit seinen Sechzehn Songs, von denen Fünf als Einspieler daher kommen, welche die Geschichte der Superhelden cool untermahlen machen alle verdammt viel Spaß. Und mal ehrlich, was soll man zum Beispiel zu so einer „traurigen“ Story, wie im Song, Collectable, der davon handelt, wie sich wohl eine Superheldenfigur in ihrer mittlerweile eingestaubten Verpackung fühlen muss in der sie seit Jahren im Regal steht. Eine verdammt geile Ballade!
Ansonsten rockt auch das Neunzehnte Album, wie jedes seiner Vorgänger und erhält daher von uns abermals die volle Punktzahl und absolute Kaufempfehlung! Schluss aus, Lordi!

Album number nineteen, in numbers 19! Guys, the band has been around for how long? Yes, that's right, since 1992, so for twenty-three years. That means, if you subtract the first ten years, in which they tried again and again to get a record deal, which always failed, then they actually have a new album every year, at least. That alone is an incredible achievement. Add to this the many successes and awards, not least their victory at the ESC in 2006, sold-out concerts and countless sales of albums, singles, games, a film and much more, and you have a clear success story. Added to this are the impressive live shows, which of course are always a pleasure due to the monsters themselves. For several years now, the band has endeavored to give each album a coherent story in one way or another. They also pay homage to past musical decades. And here they even put together a collection that acted as if the band had been around for much longer and so they put together albums that sounded exactly as if they had played their way through all the decades. It's no longer a secret that Mr. Lordi, the band's head, brainchild and founder, is a big fan of the eighties and is particularly fond of the sound of good old heavy metal. Lordi is also the name of the band we are talking about here.
Lordi are now releasing their nineteenth studio album. The name Limited Deadition. Another album that shouldn't be taken too seriously, and yet has a damn cool and carefully considered background. What would it be like if the monsters were superheroes, is the question here. This question gave rise to exactly what is now available on the shelves. As far as the sound and the songs are concerned, Lordi stubbornly continue on the path they embarked on ages ago and play what you would expect from them. Staight hard rock and heavy metal that simply has to be reminiscent of the good old eighties and does so with a vengeance. Now you could say that somehow I'm missing the really big hit on the album, the one outstanding number that can actually be found on every album released so far. Hey, dear readers and listeners, why don't you enjoy the whole concept like I do? When I read the reviews of “The Others”, the criticism that Lordi are only interested in commerce resonates strongly. I see it a little differently. The new album with its sixteen songs, five of which are interludes that provide a cool backdrop to the story of the superheroes, is a lot of fun. And let's be honest, what can you do with a “sad” story like the song Collectable, for example, which is about how a superhero figure must feel in the now dusty packaging it has been sitting in on the shelf for years. A damn cool ballad!
Apart from that, the nineteenth album rocks, just like each of its predecessors, and therefore once again gets full marks from us and an absolute recommendation to buy! That's it, Lordi!
