Bereits mit ihrer ersten VÖ im Jahr 2017, die unter dem Namen, Freak, erschien, machten die Newcomer, Tetrarch klar wo sie hinsteuerten. Als dann das zweite via Napalm Records veröffentlichte Werk, Unstable erschien, dem Liveauftritte unter anderem mit Sevendust oder Atreyu folgten stand Felsenfest, dass hier etwas großes am entstehen war. Genau diesen Erfolgskurs setzen die Modern Metal Musiker mit ihrem gerade erschienenen dritten Studioalbum fort. Nicht nur das die Leadgitarristin Diamond Rowe zur ersten weiblichen Signature-Künstlerin der legendären Marke Jackson Guitars ernannt wurde. Nein, mit ihrem aktuellen Studioalbum, The Ugly Side of me liefert die Formation ein echtes Wahnsinnswerk ab, welches ganz sicher eine verdammt hohe Platzierung erzielen wird. Tetrarch vereinen einen aggressiven Sound mit ehrlichen Texten, kraftvollen Refrains und einprägsamen Melodien, die Nu Metal auch 25 Jahre nach seinem Höhepunkt neu definieren. So klingt der Sound im Jahr 2025 so frisch wie er nur klingen sollte und doch so bekannt wie er in der Szene nie besser geklungen hat. Hier wird „Alt“ mit „Modern“ perfekt vermischt und völlig neu dargestellt und zelebriert. Ich bin ziemlich überzeugt das diese Band auch in den vergangenen Jahren eine echt große Nummer gewesen wären, aber so räumen sie das Feld von vorn auf und zeigen den alten Hasen, dass es auch heute noch möglich ist kräftig abzusahnen. Da darf man sich schon jetzt freuen was da noch so alles kommen wird. Auf alle Fälle ist, The Ugly Side of me schon mal ein verdammtes Brett, welches niemand aus der Szene verpassen sollte.

With their first release in 2017, which appeared under the name Freak, the newcomers Tetrarch made it clear where they were heading. When their second album, Unstable, was released via Napalm Records, followed by live appearances with Sevendust and Atreyu, among others, it was clear that something big was in the making. The modern metal musicians are continuing on this successful path with their recently released third studio album. Not only has lead guitarist Diamond Rowe been named the first female signature artist of the legendary Jackson Guitars brand. No, with their latest studio album, The Ugly Side of Me, the formation delivers a truly insane work that is sure to achieve a damn high ranking. Tetrarch combine an aggressive sound with honest lyrics, powerful choruses and catchy melodies that redefine nu metal even 25 years after its peak. In 2025, the sound is as fresh as it should be and yet as familiar as it has ever sounded in the scene. Here, “old” is perfectly mixed with “modern” and presented and celebrated in a completely new way. I'm pretty convinced that this band would have been a really big act in years gone by, but this way they clear the field from the front and show the old hands that it's still possible to make a big splash today. We can already look forward to what is yet to come. In any case, The Ugly Side of Me is one hell of a record that nobody in the scene should miss.
