Der kroatische Metal in Form eines seinen stärksten Vertretern mit Namen, Keops, meldet sich zurück. Im Jahr 2025 durchlief die Band einen bedeutenden Wandel: Mit dem Einstieg von Vana wurde Keops zu einer female-fronted Band. Zuvor schrieb man Geschichte als Support von namenhaften Bands wie, Overkill, Therion, Alestorm und Rage sowie gemeinsame Auftritte mit der Gesangslegende Bruce Dickinson und der britischen Kultband Tygers of Pan Tang. Die Erfolgsgeschichte der Kroaten nahm so richtig Fahrt auf, als man sich Anno 2022 nach einer Rückbesinnung zu den metalischen Wurzeln der Band und dem Schritt hin, von nun an die Texte in englischer Sprache zu präsentieren entschied, um gleich mit ihrem Erfolgsalbum, „Road to Perdition“ unter der Flagge des NoCut Entertainment Labels, den neuen kurs einzuschlagen.
Jetzt meldet sich der Fünfer mit neuem Album zurück und präsentiert mit, „Bitter Story for Humanity“, das ambitionierteste und gleichzeitig vierte Studioalbum. Zehn ausgeklügelte Metalsongs mit Tiefgründigen Texten, die sich instrumental immer schön am klassischen Metal orientieren, sich aber mehr und mehr im Groovigen Bereich bewegen, was der Sache einen besonders schönen Tiefgang verpasst und durch die neue Frontfrau vorangetrieben wird. Keops zeigen sich von ihrer besten Seite und Rocken sich durch das aktuelle Zeitgeschehen, wobei sie gekonnt auch schon mal kritische Fragen aufwerfen. Das Album selbst macht verdammt viel Spaß und kann über die volle Länge überzeugen. Man darf gespannt sein, wo die Reise von nun an hinführt. Wir vergeben die volle Punktzahl für dieses interessante Stück in der Geschichte der Band und wünschen weiterhin viel Erfolg.

Croatian metal is making a comeback in the form of one of its strongest acts, Keops. In 2025, the band underwent a significant transformation: with the addition of Vana, Keops became a female-fronted band. Prior to that, they made history as the opening act for renowned bands such as Overkill, Therion, Alestorm, and Rage, as well as performing alongside vocal legend Bruce Dickinson and the British cult band Tygers of Pan Tang. The Croatians’ success story really took off in 2022 when, after returning to the band’s metal roots and deciding to present their lyrics in English from then on, they set a new course with their hit album, “Road to Perdition,” released under the NoCut Entertainment label.
Now the five-piece is back with a new album, “Bitter Story for Humanity,” their most ambitious and fourth studio album to date. Ten sophisticated metal songs with profound lyrics that instrumentally remain firmly rooted in classic metal but increasingly venture into groovy territory, giving the music a particularly rich depth that is driven forward by the new frontwoman. Keops show themselves at their best, rocking their way through current events while skillfully raising critical questions along the way. The album itself is a blast and holds up throughout its entire length. It will be exciting to see where the journey takes them from here on out. We award full marks for this interesting chapter in the band’s history and wish them continued success.
