Eigentlich waren die auf dem nun erschienenen und von uns zu beurteilendem Album gar nicht für ein komplettes Album gedacht. Viel mehr sollte es eine „An“Sammlung an Singles sein, die nach und nach mit einem Abstand von ca. 4 Wochen, einmal monatlich via Stream die Fans und Hörer erreichen sollten und dies auch taten. Das man sich nun aber doch schlussendlich dazu entsied alle Songs zu vereinen und als Stream Album zu veröffentlichen, freut sicherlich nicht nur mich, sondern bestimmt auch die Fans dieses „Familienunternehmens“. Die Rede ist von, „Lights of Human“, hinter dem bekanntlich Vater und Sohn Hönig, Bubi und Jan Clitko, stecken. Bereits im Jahr 2017 erschien das erste Album des Projektes des Extrabreit Gitarristen und seinem multitalentierten Sohn mit Namen Human. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt lief das zwei Mann Projekt noch unter dem Namen Human, wurde aber noch vor Veröffentlichung des zweiten Albums, Lights of Human, genau in selbigen Namen umgetauft. Lights of Human bezeichnen ihre Art der Musik selbst, als experimentellen Rock, was ich für meinen Teil ohne Wiederworte sofort unterschreiben würde. Hier treffen klassische Rock Rhythmen auf elektronische Klänge, die gepaart mit dem unverwechselbaren Gesang von Jan Clitko eine, nun doch schon einzigartige Vereinigung aus Rock, Elektronik und gar HipHop darstellt. Bubu Hönig, wie bereits erwähnt seit Jahrzehnten Gitarrist der legendären Deutschrock/Punk Formation Extrabreit, verdingte sich eigentlich schon immer als Gitarrist in den unterschiedlichsten Rock Combos. So zum Beispiel bei Grobschnitt, Faithful Breath, Bullet (nicht zu verwechseln mit den aktuell existierenden Hardrockern), Green und Symphonic Floyd, während Sohn Jan Clitko Hönig eher als Musiker und Produzent, unter anderem hat er Credits bei bekannten Hip-Hop- und Rap-Künstlern wie unter anderem wie Fard, Brenna, Lakmann One, Too Strong und Toni der Assi.
Der Stil von Lights of Humen aber verbindet moderne, schwere Elektronik-Beats mit Gitarrenklängen im Stil der 1970er-Jahre sowie Elementen aus Ambient und Prog-Rock, was aus den daus resultierenden Songs eine irgendwie eigenständige Musik ergibt, auf die sich der gewillte Hörer einlassen muss.
Wie bereits geschrieben erschien nun L.T.F.L, so der Name des nun mittlerweile dritten Studioalbums. Das Album enthält alle bereits als „Single“ erschienenen Songs beginnend mit, „Countdown“ über „Woman“ „Underwater“ und „Fuck“ bis hin zum Ausklang mit Namen, „I’m out“.
Wer nun also nicht unbedingt jeden Song einzeln erwerben möchte, kann dies ab sofort auch in Form des kompletten Albums tun.
Ein Wehrmutstropfen bleibt am Ende allerdings. Das neue Album ist bisher nur als Stream über alle gängigen Plattformen zu erwerben und leider nicht als realer Tonträger, wie es sich echte Musikfreunde wie ich wünschen würden. Aber so ist es nun mal in unserer schnelllebigen Zeit. Wer braucht schon gute Musik in der Hand, wenn diese doch eh ins Ohr gehört…

The tracks on the album now under review were not originally intended for a full-length release. Instead, the plan was to issue a collection of singles—released via streaming services roughly once a month—to reach fans and listeners over time, which is exactly what happened. However, the decision to ultimately combine all these songs and release them as a streaming album is sure to delight not only me but also the fans of this "family business." I am referring to "Lights of Human," the project driven by the father-and-son duo of Hönig—Bubi and Jan Clitko. The project—a collaboration between the Extrabreit guitarist and his multi-talented son—released its debut album, titled *Human*, back in 2017. At that time, the duo operated simply under the name "Human," but they rebranded to "Lights of Human" prior to the release of their second album of the same name. The duo describes their style as "experimental rock"—a label I would wholeheartedly endorse without hesitation. Here, classic rock rhythms meet electronic sounds; paired with Jan Clitko’s distinctive vocals, the result is a truly unique fusion of rock, electronica, and even hip-hop. Bubi Hönig—a guitarist who, as mentioned, has played with the legendary German rock/punk band Extrabreit for decades—has long been active as a guitarist in a wide variety of rock groups. His resume includes stints with bands such as Grobschnitt, Faithful Breath, Bullet (not to be confused with the current hard rock act of the same name), Green, and Symphonic Floyd. His son, Jan Clitko Hönig, has made his mark primarily as a musician and producer, boasting credits with well-known hip-hop and rap artists such as Fard, Brenna, Lakmann One, Too Strong, and Toni der Assi. The style of Lights of Humen, however, combines modern, heavy electronic beats with 1970s-style guitar sounds and elements of ambient and prog-rock, resulting in a distinctive sound that requires the willing listener to fully engage with it.
As previously mentioned, *L.T.F.L.*—the title of what is now the third studio album—has been released. The album includes all the songs previously issued as singles, starting with "Countdown," followed by "Woman," "Underwater," and "Fuck," and concluding with the track "I’m Out."
So, for anyone who doesn’t necessarily want to purchase each song individually, the complete album is now available.
There is, however, one slight downside: so far, the new album is only available to stream on major platforms and—unfortunately—not as a physical record, which is what true music lovers like myself would prefer. But that’s just how things are in our fast-paced times. After all, who needs to hold good music in their hands when it belongs in your ears…
