Nennt mich Langweilig. Nennt mich ewig an alten Bands Festhaltenden. Aber ich liebe diese Formation. Selbst im Team sind wir uns was Dragonforce angeht nicht alle einig. Ich für meinen Teil mag die Truppe seit ihrem Debüt im Jahr, 2003. Gegründet wurde dieses britische Power Metal Fundament bereits im Jahr 1999. Seither schaffte es die Formation auf ganze neu Studioalben (zählt man das aktuelle Werk mit). Der Style ist und bleibt ein Soundgewitter aus schnellen Riffs, treibenden Beats gepaart mit einem verdammt eingängigen Gesang. Auch wenn der letzte noch verbliebene Gründer, Hermann Li, rein Besetzungsmässig über die Jahre immer wieder Rückschläge hinnehmen musste und somit das Band-Karussell sich ständig drehte und drehte, blieb man(n) sich stehts treu. Genau so präsentiert man nun im Jahr 2024 das neue Werk, Warp Speed Warrior. Zehn brandneue Songs plus vier Bonus Nummern erwarten den Fan und Hörer. Jedes der Stücke ist ein weiterer Meilenstein in der Geschichte von Dragonforce. Ob nun schnell und hart mit wahnwitzigen Solis, oder gefühlvoll, wie zum Beispiel im Song, Kindom of Steel. Dragonforce wissen was man von ihnen erwartet und lassen keinen Fan im Regen stehen. Für mich ist dieses powergeladene Album schon jetzt eines der ganz großen im laufenden Jahr 2024, womit sich Wrap Speed Warrior nahtlos an das bisherige Schaffenswerk der Londoner anschließt. Nach ihrem gerade erst absolvierten Live Auftritt hier in Berlin wünschen wir der Band weiterhin gutes Gelingen und freuen uns auf der Dinge, die da noch folgen werden.

Call me boring. Call me a stickler for old bands. But I love this formation. Even as a team, we don't all agree on Dragonforce. For my part, I've liked the band since their debut in 2003. This British power metal foundation was founded back in 1999, and since then the band has released a whole new studio album (including the current one). The style is and remains a sound thunderstorm of fast riffs, driving beats paired with damn catchy vocals. Even though the last remaining founder, Hermann Li, has had to accept setbacks in the line-up over the years and the band carousel has constantly turned and turned, the band has always remained true to itself. And so, in 2024, they present their new work, Warp Speed Warrior. Ten brand new songs plus four bonus tracks await fans and listeners. Each of the tracks is another milestone in the history of Dragonforce. Whether fast and hard with insane solos, or soulful, as for example in the song, Kindom of Steel. Dragonforce know what to expect from them and leave no fan out in the cold. For me, this power-packed album is already one of the greats of 2024, with Wrap Speed Warrior seamlessly following on from the Londoners' previous work. After their recent live performance here in Berlin, we wish the band continued success and look forward to the things to come.
