Wer mich kennt der weiß was jetzt kommt. Ich habe ein mächtiges Problem mit Cover Versionen und besonders dann wenn es gleich ein ganzes Album davon gibt. Ok, wie gesagt wer mich kennt, weiß aber auch, dass ich mich gern vom Gegenteil überzeugen lasse und für beinah alles offen bin. Mir stellt sich nur immer die Frage, warum muss ich etwas was im Original schon gut oder bestens funktioniert hat unbedingt covern? Nun, ein guter Grund ist, weil Mann/Frau durch die Musik inspiriert wurden und somit selbst zur Musik gefunden haben. In diesem Fall kann man also davon ausgehen, das, dass entstandene Cover eine Huldigung an das Original und somit auch an den Künstler darstellen dürfte.
Hm, soweit also akzeptiert.
Im nun vorliegenden neuen Album, mit Namen, Tattoo me, habe ich wieder das Problem, Cover! Grund dafür, wie beschrieben, ist also akzeptiert und dann kommt der größte Pluspunkt des Albums. Es stammt von niemand geringeren als von der einzig wahren Metal Queen. Die Rede ist von, Karen Lynn Greening, besser bekannt unter dem Namen, Lee Aaron.
Die gute Lee hat nun also ihr erstes Cover Album aufgenommen. Wie bereits an Anfang erläutert rein aus dem Grund heraus, das sie und ihre musikalischen Mitstreiter bei einem Dinner auf dem Monsters of Rock Festival im Jahr 2023, auf die Idee kamen, ihre großen Inspirationen zu Ehren indem sie ein Cover Album machen wollen. So trug man alles an Songs zusammen, was irgendwie dazu beitrug das jeder der Anwesenden heute im Musikgeschäft tätig ist. Aus der Vielzahl der Songs suchte man dann elf der stärksten Nummern heraus, coverte selbige und verpasste den Songs zusätzlich noch seinen eigenen Touch.
So entstand das Album, Tattoo me, mit Cover Version von Künstlern wie, Jet, Heart, Let Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Fleetwood Mac, Steppenwolf, Hole, Undertones, Elton John, Larry Tagg und Elastica.
Für mich nicht zuletzt eine echte Herausforderung, da ich durchweg die Originale kenne und mag, und gleichzeitig ein Fan der Metal Queen seit ihren Anfängen bin. Ich kann ohne rot zu werden sagen, das ich alles was Frau Aaron bisher veröffentlichte nicht nur mag, ich liebe es. Ob rock, Metal, Soul, Blues, diese Frau ist in meinen Augen ein Multitalent, somit kann ich nur sagen, auch Tattoo me hat mich ziemlich schnell überzeugt und wird von mir und dem Streetteam Berlin verdammt noch mal mit höchster Punktzahl empfohlen.
Und diese Empfehlung spreche ich nicht als Fan der Metal Queen aus, sondern als wahrer Kritiker der musikalischen Leistung. Und die ist hier mit sehr gut zu beurteilen.
Danke Lee Aaron, ihr bringt Erinnerungen zurück in unsere Zeit die durch euch erfrischend neu klingt.

Anyone who knows me knows what's coming next. I have a huge problem with cover versions, especially when there's a whole album of them. Ok, as I said, anyone who knows me also knows that I like to be convinced otherwise and am open to almost anything. The only question I always ask myself is why do I have to cover something that worked well or perfectly in the original? Well, one good reason is because the man/woman was inspired by the music and thus found their way to the music themselves. In this case, you can assume that the resulting cover is a tribute to the original and therefore also to the artist.
Hm, so far accepted.
In the new album now available, called Tattoo me, I have the problem again, covers! The reason for this, as described, is therefore accepted and then comes the biggest plus point of the album. It comes from none other than the one and only Metal Queen. We're talking about Karen Lynn Greening, better known as Lee Aaron.
The good Lee has now recorded her first cover album. As explained at the beginning, it was purely for the reason that she and her musical comrades-in-arms came up with the idea of honoring their great inspirations by making a cover album at a dinner at the Monsters of Rock Festival in 2023. So they collected all the songs that somehow contributed to the fact that everyone present is active in the music business today. From the multitude of songs, they then picked out eleven of the strongest numbers, covered them and added their own touch to the songs.
The result was the album, Tattoo me, with cover versions of artists such as Jet, Heart, Let Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Fleetwood Mac, Steppenwolf, Hole, Undertones, Elton John, Larry Tagg and Elastica.
Not least a real challenge for me, as I know and like all the originals and have been a fan of Metal Queen since its beginnings. I can say without blushing that I not only like everything Ms. Aaron has released so far, I love it. Whether rock, metal, soul, blues, this woman is a multi-talent in my eyes, so I can only say that Tattoo me also convinced me pretty quickly and is damn well recommended by me and the Streetteam Berlin with the highest score.
And I'm not making this recommendation as a fan of Metal Queen, but as a true critic of the musical performance. And this can be judged as very good.
Thank you Lee Aaron, you bring back memories to our time that sound refreshingly new thanks to you.
