Es ist unbestritten, das Little Richard wohl eine der größten Legenden das einzig wahren Rock’n Roll war und ist. Mit seinem Style, Ausdruck und auch Aussehen, inspirierte er nicht zu Letzt Größen, wie Paul McCartney, James Brown oder auch Prince. Er war und ist bis heute eine der größten Inspirationen dieser einzigartigen Musikrichtung der Sechziger und Siebziger Jahre. Das diese Inspiration noch weit über diese Jahrzehnte bis hin in unsere Zeit reicht, beweisen die Diamond Dogs. Diese im Jahr 1991 im schwedischen Katrineholm, Södermanland, von Sulo Karlsson, Anders Boba Lindström und The Duke of Honk gegründete Rock Band, hat sich vom ersten Tag an nämlich dem Style und Rhythmus genau dieser Zeit und Musik verschrieben. Auch Sulo Karlsson wurde bereits in frühen Kindertagen mit genau diesem Rhythmus infiziert. Und dies, genau, durch niemand anderen als Little Richard selbst. Irgendwie war es also bezeichnend dafür, das eines Tages genau das in den Verkaufsregalen landen würde, was nun gerade gelandet ist. In Zusammenarbeit mit, Chris Spedding, endstand das nunmehr mittlerweile sechszehnte Studioalbum der Diamond Dogs, die mittlerweile in der Rock’n Roll Szene, als eine der größten Erscheinungen unserer Zeit gelten und durchweg ausschließlich positive Reaktionen auf ihre Werke und Konzerte erhalten/erhielten.
Das neue Material, bestehend aus elf neuen Rock-Nummern, sticht hierbei besonders mit seinem typischen Little Richard ähnelnden Rhythmus, Sound und Texten heraus. So ist, Macon Georgia Giant, eine wahre Hommage und Huldigung an diesen unverwechselbaren Künstler, der der Welt der Musik soviel schenkte.
So rocken sich die Diamond Dogs und Chris Spedding durch die gesamte Spielzeit des Albums und lassen mit bester Laune und Spielfreude diesen unverwechselbaren Sound neu Auferstehen.
Es ist eine wahre Freude dieses Album zu hören und zu feiern, welches beweist, das der wahre Rock’n Roll nie sterben wird.

It is undisputed that Little Richard was and is one of the greatest legends of true rock'n'roll. With his style, expression and appearance, he inspired greats such as Paul McCartney, James Brown and Prince. He was and still is one of the greatest inspirations of this unique music genre of the sixties and seventies. The Diamond Dogs prove that this inspiration extends far beyond these decades into the present day. Founded in 1991 in Katrineholm, Södermanland, Sweden, by Sulo Karlsson, Anders Boba Lindström and The Duke of Honk, this rock band has been dedicated to the style and rhythm of precisely this period and music from day one. Sulo Karlsson was also infected with this very rhythm in his early childhood. And this, precisely, by none other than Little Richard himself. Somehow, it was therefore significant that one day exactly what has just landed would end up on the shelves. In collaboration with Chris Spedding, the now sixteenth studio album by the Diamond Dogs, who are now regarded in the rock'n'roll scene as one of the greatest phenomena of our time and have received exclusively positive reactions to their works and concerts, was released.
The new material, consisting of eleven new rock numbers, stands out in particular with its typical Little Richard-like rhythm, sound and lyrics. Thus, Macon Georgia Giant is a true tribute and homage to this unmistakable artist who gave so much to the world of music.
The Diamond Dogs and Chris Spedding rock their way through the entire duration of the album and resurrect this unmistakable sound with great humor and enthusiasm.
