Etwas Rock gefällig ? Na da können die im Jahr 2012 in Schweden gegründeten Spiders locker mit dienen. Seit ihrer Gründung veröffentlichten die sehr Reiselustigen Schweden bereits drei erfolgreiche Alben und unzählige Singles sowie EPs. Mit ihren Liveauftritten eroberten sie die Herzen der Fans und scharen so eine eigene kleine Gemeinschaft an Liebhabern ihres Schaffens um sich. Jetzt ist es aber an der Zeit noch einen oben drauf zu legen. Mit Album Nummer vier, Sharp Objects, geht man noch einen Schritt weiter und vereint die bisher von der vierköpfigen Formation bekannten Songs im Style des Rock, mal eben mit Einflüsse aus der New-Wave- und Garage-Rock-Szene der frühen 80er Jahre. Das gibt dem eh schon rockigen Sound der Band gleich noch einmal einen weiteren Kick in Richtung Vorwärts. So erhält der gewillte Hörer mit dem neuen Studiowerk elf brandheiße frische Rocksongs, die es an nichts fehlen lassen. Als echten „Arschtritt“ kann hier zum Beispiel, Too Hard for you, genannt werden, was mal so richtig schon nach vorn abgeht.
So bezeichnet die offizielle Seite der Band das neue Werk so, „ Das Album nimmt den Hörer mit auf eine klangliche Reise - vom legendären Truckstop Alaska in Göteborg über die legendäre Bleecker Street in New York bis hin zum pulsierenden Soho in London und wieder zurück. Auf dem Weg dorthin begegnet man einer Musiklandschaft, in der der Geist von Bands wie The Faces, Dead Boys, Fred Cole und Bikini Kill weiterlebt, während eine rebellische Debbie Harry der Gegenwart ein trotziges Nicken schenkt.
Und dieser Aussage ist nichts weiter hinzuzufügen. Außer vielleicht, das hier ein weiteres Album mit verdammt viel Spaß im Gepäck daher kommt, was deshalb allein schon unsere Kaufempfehlung mehr als verdient hat.

Fancy a bit of rock? Well, the Spiders, founded in Sweden in 2012, can easily oblige. Since their formation, the very travel-loving Swedes have already released three successful albums and countless singles and EPs. They have won the hearts of fans with their live performances and have gathered a small community of fans of their work around them. But now it's time to go one better. With album number four, Sharp Objects, they go one step further and combine the songs previously known from the four-piece formation in the style of rock with influences from the new wave and garage rock scene of the early 80s. This gives the band's already rocking sound a further kick in the direction of forward motion. The new studio album provides the willing listener with eleven red-hot, fresh rock songs that leave nothing to be desired. Too Hard for You, for example, can be described as a real “kick in the ass”, which really gets things moving forward.
The band's official website describes the new album as follows: “The album takes the listener on a sonic journey - from the legendary truck stop Alaska in Gothenburg to the legendary Bleecker Street in New York to the pulsating Soho in London and back again. Along the way, you encounter a musical landscape where the spirit of bands like The Faces, Dead Boys, Fred Cole and Bikini Kill lives on, while a rebellious Debbie Harry gives a defiant nod to the present.
And there is nothing more to add to this statement. Except perhaps that here comes another album with a hell of a lot of fun in its luggage, which alone more than deserves our recommendation to buy.
