Das das Nachbarland Österreich weit mehr als schöne Landschaften, super Ski-Gebiete und nette Leute zu bieten hat, sondern auch ihr Geschäft in Sachen Musik versteht, weiß man nicht erst seit Größen wie unter anderem Falco. Um so erschreckender für mich ist die Tatsache, das es erst die zweite Studioscheibe und somit das Erstlingswerk beim neuen Label, Napalm Records, brauchte, um mich auf diese All Mädels Band aufmerksam zu machen. Sagen wir es mal so, ihre Vorliebe für Rockmusik und hier Vorbilder wie, Girlschool, The Runaways oder The Donnas, können die Damen nicht verheimlichen. Besonders der Opener des neuen Albums, dürfte unserem lieben Lemmy, Gott habe ihn Seelig, mehr als gefallen. So wie das Ding mit Namen, The Drugs, the Love and Pain, geht mal so was von nach vorn ab, dass könnten die Damen von Girlschool nicht besser abliefern. Grüße an dieser Stelle an die Damen, die gerade erst im Gepäck von Saxon unsere Stadt beehrten. Aber kommen wir zurück zu Vulvarine. Noch ziemlich unbekannt, und doch schon „groß“ im Geschäft. So durfte man unter anderem nach der Veröffentlichung ihres Debüt Albums, Unleashed und der EP, Witches Brew, die schwedischen Punkrock-Legende The Baboon Show und gerade jetzt niemand geringeren als Thundermother himself, Live supporten und somit auch gleich seine Live Qualitäten unter Beweis stellen. Und das taten, bzw. tun die Damen nicht einmal schlecht, wenn ich das mal so sagen darf. Jedenfalls heizten sie das Publikum im Festsaal Kreuzberg hier in Berlin schon mal kräftig für Thundermother und Cobra Spell an. Wo wir gerade bei Thundermother sind, auf dem neuen gerade erschienenen Album der, wie sie sich selbst bezeichnen, Vulvarocker, befindet sich die Cover Nummer, Cheri, Cheri Lady von Modern Talking, welche hier begleitet wird von niemand anderem als Filippa Nässli (Thundermother). Eine echt starke Coverversion, die dem ollen Pop Song endlich mal ein Bisschen härte und Kick verpasst. Auch sonst können sich die insgesamt elf Nummern allesamt hören lassen. So rocken sich die Damen mal im klassischen Hardrock, mal im rotzigen Punkstyle durch die Spielzeit und verbreiten dabei eine coole Partystimmung. Da darf man gespannt sein, was da noch so aus dem Nachbarland kommen wird. Von uns aus gern weiter so die Damen.

That the neighboring country of Austria has much more to offer than beautiful landscapes, great ski resorts and nice people, but also knows its business when it comes to music, has not only been known since greats such as Falco. All the more shocking for me is the fact that it took the second studio album and thus the debut album on the new label, Napalm Records, to make me aware of this all-girl band. Let's put it this way, the ladies can't hide their preference for rock music and here role models like Girlschool, The Runaways or The Donnas. Especially the opener of the new album should more than please our dear Lemmy, God rest his soul. Just like the thing called The Drugs, the Love and Pain, the ladies of Girlschool couldn't deliver anything better. Greetings at this point to the ladies who have just graced our city with Saxon. But let's get back to Vulvarine. Still quite unknown, and yet already “big” in the business. After the release of their debut album, Unleashed, and the EP, Witches Brew, they were able to support the Swedish punk rock legends The Baboon Show and right now none other than Thundermother himself live and thus prove their live qualities. And the ladies didn't even do that badly, if I may say so. In any case, they got the audience in the Festsaal Kreuzberg here in Berlin fired up for Thundermother and Cobra Spell. While we're on the subject of Thundermother, the new album just released by what they call Vulvarocker features the cover number Cheri, Cheri Lady by Modern Talking, which is accompanied here by none other than Filippa Nässli (Thundermother). A really strong cover version that finally gives the old pop song a bit of hardness and kick. The other eleven songs are all worth listening to. The ladies rock their way through the playing time, sometimes in classic hard rock, sometimes in snotty punk style, spreading a cool party atmosphere. It will be interesting to see what else will come from the neighboring country. Keep up the good work ladies
