Bereits seit 2005 treiben die vier US Amerikaner aus Columbus Ohio, unter dem Namen Lo-Pan, ihr „Unwesen“. Seit der Anfänge veröffentlichte, die besonders in der Undergroundszene bekannten und hier doch sehr gefeierte Formation bereits sechs Studioalben, was im Jahr 2006 mit dem selbstbetitelten Lo-Pan begann und zuletzt mit Subtle im Jahr 2019 endete. Stets ist und war die Band, die sich nach dem Bösewicht aus dem Kinoklassiker, Big Trouble in Little China benannte, dabei sich neu zu erfinden und weiter zu entwickeln. Ihr Styl aus einer Mischung bestehend aus modernem Heavy Metal, Stoner Rock und Grunge, gemischt mit treibenden Rhythmen und melodischem Gesang, bescheren der Band seitdem eine in der Szene stätig wachsende Fangemeinde. Dies liegt aber auch daran, weil die Band es versteht, sich auch Live sowohl in den USA als auch sonst wo auf der Welt bestens zu präsentieren. Nun, im Jahr 2025 ist es Zeit das nächst Kapitel aufzuschlagen und die Geschichte weiterzuerzählen. So steht seit vergangenem Freitag das nunmehr siebente Studiowerk in den Verkaufsregalen. Mit, Get Well Soon, schlägt die Band zwar keinen übertriebenen neuen Weg ein, hat aber dennoch erneut einen weiteren Schritt vorwärts gewagt und ihren bestehenden, bekannten und von den Fans gefeierten Style verfeinert. Nach wie vor klingen Lo-Pan bedrohlich und schwer. Der Gesang ist klar und einprägsam. Die Songs tiefgründig. So servieren Lo-Pan mit ihrem neuen Werk neun, neue Nummern, die dem Fan und Liebhaber mehr als gefallen dürften. Lo-Pan beweisen erneut, das man mit ihnen in der Metal Underground-Szene rechnen muss, und schicken sich mit ihrem neuen Werk an, die Welt zu erobern. Man darf gespannt sein wohin der Weg noch führen wird.

The four US Americans from Columbus Ohio have been “up to no good” since 2005 under the name Lo-Pan. Since their beginnings, the formation, which is particularly well-known and celebrated in the underground scene, has already released six studio albums, starting in 2006 with the self-titled Lo-Pan and ending with Subtle in 2019. The band, which named itself after the villain from the classic movie Big Trouble in Little China, is and has always been in the process of reinventing itself and developing further. Their style, consisting of a mixture of modern heavy metal, stoner rock and grunge, mixed with driving rhythms and melodic vocals, has since brought the band a steadily growing fan base in the scene. However, this is also due to the fact that the band knows how to present itself live in the best possible way, both in the USA and elsewhere in the world. Now, in the year 2025, it's time to open the next chapter and continue the story. The seventh studio album has been on the shelves since last Friday. With Get Well Soon, the band may not be breaking any new ground, but they have nevertheless taken another step forward and refined their existing, well-known and fan-acclaimed style. Lo-Pan still sound menacing and heavy. The vocals are clear and memorable. The songs are profound. With their new work, Lo-Pan serve up nine new songs that should more than please fans and aficionados. Lo-Pan prove once again that they are a force to be reckoned with in the metal underground scene, and are preparing to conquer the world with their new work. It will be interesting to see where the road will lead.
