Mit The Immortal legen die im Jahr 2000 gegründeten schwedischen Melodic Death Metaler, In Mourning nun ihr bereits siebentes Studioalbum vor. Mit insgesamt 5 Demos und einem Live Album, eine in dieser kurzen Zeit sehr beeindruckende Leistung wie wir finden. Anfänglich noch zu fünft, schrumpfte die Formation, auf nun noch vier Member zusammen, was dem brachialen Sound der Schweden aber nicht geschadet hat. Die Band hat sich seit ihrer Gründung eine stets wachsende Fangemeine geschaffen und präsentiert sich 2025 in bester Spiellaune. Die insgesamt neun brandneuen Songs des Albums, behandeln Themen wie persönliche Kämpfe und philosophische Reflexionen. Hierbei beweisen die vier Herren erneut ihre Stärken und können mit dem Wechselspiel zwischen harten Growls und melodischem Gesang des Duos Netzell und Petterson einmal mehr glänzen. Angetrieben durch harte Riffs, sowie präzise und treibende Rhythmen wird das siebte Studioalbum zu etwas ganz besonderen. Das In Mourning auch Live mehr als überzeugen können haben sie bereits auf ausgedehnten Touren bewiesen. Nun schlagen sie mit The Immortal das nächste Kapitel auf und das ist mit Verlaub gesagt, ein ziemliches Brett, welches wir euch sehr gern empfehlen.

With the Immortal, Swedish melodic death metal band In Mourning, founded in 2000, now presents its seventh studio album. With a total of five demos and one live album, we find this to be a very impressive achievement in such a short time. Initially a five-piece, the band has now shrunk to four members, but this has not detracted from the Swedes' brutal sound. Since its formation, the band has built up an ever-growing fan base and is in top form in 2025. The nine brand-new songs on the album deal with topics such as personal struggles and philosophical reflections. Here, the four gentlemen once again prove their strengths and shine with the interplay between hard growls and the melodic vocals of the duo Netzell and Petterson. Driven by hard riffs and precise, driving rhythms, the seventh studio album is something very special. In Mourning have already proven on extensive tours that they are more than convincing live. Now they are opening the next chapter with the Immortal, and with all due respect, it's quite a blast, which we highly recommend.
