PRIMAL FEAR – DOMINATION

Seit letztem Jahr sind zwei „Neue“ an Bord. Aber eines ist mal gewiss, wenn zwei Kerle wie zum einen Mat Sinner und zum anderen Ralf Scheppers etwas neues in die Verkaufsregale stellen, dann kann das nur gut sein. Wenn dann ein Album gleich mal mit zwei Halsbrechern, „The Hunter“ und „Destroyer“ das Startsignal geben, dann steht unweigerlich fest, die Umbesetzung tat Primal Fear verdammt noch mal gut. Und so präsentieren sich die zwei alten Haudegen Sinner und Scheppers nun also mit, Thalìa Bellazecca (Gitarre) und André Hilgers (Schlagzeug), sowie dem alten Weggefährten an der Gitarre, Magnus Karlsson, in bester Manie und Spiellaune. Auf Domination, so der Name des gerade erschienenen Studiowerkes, dominiert nur einer, und das ist der pure Powermetal! Was die Mannen plus nun einer Dame an den Saiten hier abliefern ist ein dermaßen fettes Brett, dass sich die „Konkurrenz“ mal schnell ganz warm anziehen sollte. Da kommt ein mächtiger Sturm auf und der startete genau Freitag den 5.September 2025 in den Verkaufsregalen und kündigt auch gleich eine Halsbrecherische Tour an. Primal Fear jedenfalls haben sich durch die Trennung ihrer drei ehemaligen Kollegen nicht beirren lassen und servieren sich in gewohnter Stärke, wenn nicht sogar um einiges stärker als je zu vor. Das Album selbst beinhaltet alles was ein Powermetal Album beinhalten muss. Ich schreibe hier mit Absicht nicht beinhalten sollte, denn hier geht die Post in allen Richtungen mal so richtig ab. Geschwindigkeit, Power, Härte, Rhythmus, treibenden Riffs, wummernde Bass und Drum Lines und hier und da das schöne Hymnengefühl. Hier kommt ein jeder Fan und Freund des Genres und der Band auf seine Kosten. Dreizehn Songs mit Leib und Seele, mehr geht einfach nicht. Da kann man nicht oft genug den Startknopf betätigen und ist mit Sicherheit auf den kommenden Konzerten Gesanges tauglich. Auf alle Fälle wird das neue Album mit Sicherheit gefeiert werden. Since last year, two “newcomers” have joined the band. But one thing is certain: when two guys like Mat Sinner and Ralf Scheppers put something new on the shelves, it can only be good. When an album kicks off with two neck-breakers, “The Hunter” and “Destroyer,” it's inevitable that the lineup change did Primal Fear a world of good. And so the two old warhorses Sinner and Scheppers now present themselves with Thalìa Bellazecca (guitar) and André Hilgers (drums), as well as their old companion on guitar, Magnus Karlsson, in top form and in the mood to play. On Domination, the name of the studio album that has just been released, only one thing dominates, and that is pure power metal! What the men plus one lady on the strings deliver here is such a powerful album that the “competition” had better watch out. A mighty storm is coming, and it hit the shelves on Friday, September 5, 2025, announcing a breakneck tour. Primal Fear, in any case, have not been deterred by the departure of their three former colleagues and are serving up their usual strength, if not even stronger than ever before. The album itself contains everything a power metal album should contain. I deliberately don't write “should contain” here, because this album really goes off in all directions. Speed, power, hardness, rhythm, driving riffs, booming bass and drum lines, and here and there that beautiful anthem feeling. Every fan and friend of the genre and the band will get their money's worth here. Thirteen songs with heart and soul, you can't ask for more. You can't press the play button often enough, and you'll definitely be ready to sing along at the upcoming concerts. In any case, the new album is sure to be celebrated.
