Es gibt immer so Alben, da kann man das Erscheiningsdatum kaum erwarten. So ging es mir auch bei diesem hier, über das ich nun gern ein paar Worte verlieren möchte. Und wie das Leben so spielt, da freut man sich auf das neue Werk wie ein Kind vorm Weihnachtsbaum und will es nicht nur Hören, sondern auch verdammt noch mal beurteilen und seinen Eindruck mit der Welt da drußen teilen, und dann kommt da ein fieser kleiner Virus und legt einen kurzfristig lahm. Deshalb nun mit einer Woche Verspätung. Syn ist da. Syn ist der Hammer. Syn ist neu und Syn ist der Name des Aktuellen erschienenen Album von Soulbound. Nun ist es zwar so, dass wir hier im Team uns immer mega freuen, sobald es etwas Neues von dieser sympathischen Formation git, und dass seit wir das große Glück hatten, die Herren Live als Support, ich weiß jetzt nicht einmal mehr von wem, sehen zu dürfen. Denn seit diesem Tag verfolgen und folgen wir Soulbound und unterstützen sie im Rahmen unseres eigenen Tuns. Soulbound, die 2009 in Bielefeld gegründete Dark Metal Band rund um Sänger, Johannes Stecker, legen seit ihrem Debüt Album, Towards the Sun aus dem Jahr 2012, stets einen obendrauf. Sei es nun darin, dass sie sich von Album zu Album steigern, bis hin zu den großen Erfolgen, Addicted to Hell (2020) oder dem schon beinah unschlagbaren Obsydian (2024) oder mit ihrer ersten eigenen Headliner Tour im Jahr 2025, Soulbound geben stets Vollgas und gehen ihren Weg steil nach oben und nach vorn. Und dies tun sie stets zusammen mit ihrer immer weiterwachsenden Fangemeinde. Ja Freunde ihr lesst richtig, Soulbound gehen nicht voran, oder leiten an, sie gehen ihren Weg Seite an Seite mit ihren Fans. Und das macht diese Band aus. Diese Sympathie, Herzlichkeit und Treue zu denen, die es ihnen ermöglichen ihren Traum zu leben und ihren Weg zu gehen. Und nun am endlich der nächste Streich. Das nächste Album. Syn ist da und Syn setzt den Weg fort. Hart, direkt, rhythmisch voll auf die Fress und dennoch mit verdammt viel Gefühl, hauen Johannes, Felix, Patrick, Jonas und Mario dem Fan und Hörer ihre neuen zwölf Songs um die Ohren. Dabei greift man voll auf seine Stärken zu und packt noch mal eine riesen Schippe an neu erlerntem drauf. Der Sound ist Fett. Die Rhythmen treiben einfach nach vorn und heizen richtig ein. Der Gesang ist klar und direkt und die Instrumentals treffen voll ins Schwarze. Wer dachte Soulbound kann nicht weiter gehen als bis zum letzten Alben, der hat die Rechnung ohne diese Herren gemacht. Sie setzen einen oben drauf und irgendwie habe ich das Gefühl sie sind noch lange nicht am Ende angekommen, was auch gut so ist und sicherlich nicht nur ein großer Wunsch des Streetteams, oder liebe Fangemeinde?
Genug der lobenden Worte, Volle Punktzahl. 100-prozentige Kauf und Hörempfehlung, wenn nicht gar Anweisung. Und Nun Album anwerfen. Lautstärkeregler auf Anschlag und Feiern bis der Arzt kommt. Lasst euren Nachbarn hören das ihr Soulbound liebt. Lasst ihn mithören, ob er will oder nicht…

There are always albums that you can hardly wait for the release date of. That's how I felt about this one, which I'd now like to say a few words about. And as life would have it, you look forward to the new work like a child in front of the Christmas tree and not only want to hear it, but also want to review it and share your impressions with the world out there, and then a nasty little virus comes along and temporarily knocks you out. That's why it's a week late. Syn is here. Syn is awesome. Syn is new, and Syn is the name of Soulbound's latest album. Now, it's true that we here in the team are always super excited whenever there's something new from this likeable band, and that since we had the great fortune to see them live as support for, I don't even remember who anymore. Because since that day, we've been following Soulbound and supporting them as part of our own activities. Soulbound, the dark metal band founded in Bielefeld in 2009 around singer Johannes Stecker, have been going from strength to strength since their debut album, Towards the Sun, in 2012. Whether it's improving from album to album, achieving great success with Addicted to Hell (2020) or the almost unbeatable Obsydian (2024), or embarking on their first headlining tour in 2025, Soulbound always give it their all and continue their steep rise to the top. And they always do this together with their ever-growing fan base. Yes, friends, you read that right, Soulbound don't lead the way or take the lead, they walk their path side by side with their fans. And that's what makes this band special. This sympathy, warmth, and loyalty to those who enable them to live their dream and follow their path. And now, finally, the next coup. The next album. Syn is here, and Syn continues on the path. Hard, direct, rhythmically full-on, yet with a hell of a lot of feeling, Johannes, Felix, Patrick, Jonas, and Mario blast their fans and listeners with their twelve new songs. In doing so, they draw fully on their strengths and add a huge dose of newly acquired skills. The sound is fat. The rhythms simply drive forward and really heat things up. The vocals are clear and direct, and the instrumentals hit the mark. Anyone who thought Soulbound couldn't go any further than their last albums hasn't reckoned with these gentlemen. They've gone one better, and somehow I have the feeling that they're far from finished, which is a good thing and certainly not just a wishful thought of the street team or dear fan community.
Enough praise, full marks. 100% recommended purchase and listen, if not an instruction. Now play the album. Turn up the volume and party until the doctor comes. Let your neighbors hear that you love Soulbound. Let them listen, whether they want to or not...
