Melechesh wurde 1993 in Jerusalem gegründet mit dem Ziel, das zu schaffen, was die Band selbst als mesopotamischen Metal bezeichnet. Verwurzelt im Black Metal und Thrash Metal, schöpft ihr Sound tief aus der sumerischen und mesopotamischen Mythologie, kosmischen und okkulten Themen und integriert mediterrane und nahöstliche Musikelemente in ein Extreme-Metal-Konzept. Im Laufe der Jahrzehnte hat sich Melechesh zu einem internationalen musikalischen und kulturellen Phänomen entwickelt, bekannt für seine unverwechselbare Identität, seinen fundierten mythologischen Fokus und seine kompromisslose künstlerische Vision. Die Band bleibt eine einzigartige Kraft im Extreme Metal und hebt sich sowohl konzeptionell als auch klanglich von anderen ab.
Soweit das offizielle Statement des Labels. Wer nun unter unseren Lesern/Hörern die Formation bisher noch nicht kennt, der hat mit ihrem gerade erschienenen drei Track starkem neusten Werk, welches trotz geringer Songanzahl auf eine Spielzeit von gut einundzwanzig Minuten kommt,die Möglichkeit sich von der qualität selbiger zu überzeugen. Melechesh sind auf ihre Art, schon etwas Besonderes. Rein Instrumental verstehen die Herrschaften ihr Handwerk aus dem FF und auch Gesangtechnisch ka nn man durchaus überzeugen. Wer nun also auf Black/Thrash Metal steht, und einmal mehr etwas abwechslung in die Bude bringen möchte, der ist hier richtig und bekommt drei aussergewöhnliche Nummern um die ohren gehauen, die jedes für sich voll nach vorn gehen und dabei auch noch eine Menge Spaß machen. Melechesh was founded in Jerusalem in 1993 with the goal of creating what the band themselves call Mesopotamian Metal. Rooted in black and thrash metal, their sound draws deeply from Sumerian and Mesopotamian mythology, cosmic and occult themes, and integrates Mediterranean and Middle Eastern musical elements into an extreme metal concept. Over the decades, Melechesh has evolved into an international musical and cultural phenomenon, known for its distinctive identity, its profound mythological focus, and its uncompromising artistic vision. The band remains a unique force in extreme metal, standing out from others both conceptually and sonically.
That's the official statement from the label. For those of our readers/listeners who aren't yet familiar with the band, their recently released three-track album, which, despite its small number of songs, clocks in at a good twenty-one minutes, offers the opportunity to experience its quality firsthand. Melechesh are, in their own way, something truly special. Instrumentally, these guys are masters of their craft, and their vocals are quite convincing as well. So, if you're into black/thrash metal and want to spice things up a bit, this is the band for you.
