Der Zirkus ist in der Stadt, und so startet das nächste Kapitel der Zombie Rocker, angeführt von Doktor Dead. Das nunmehr dritte Album von Dominum steht in den Verkaufsregalen und wartet darauf gefeiert zu werden. Und dass man mit Dominum eine echt geile Rock Party feiern kann, das haben die Herren bereits auf ihren beiden Vorgängern, Hey living People und The Dead don`t Die, eindrucksvoll unter Beweis gestellt. Nicht ohne Grund wächst die Fangemeinde der 2022 in Nürnberg gegründeten Band stetig weiter. Selbst der Metal Hammer verpasst dem neuen Album 6 von 7 möglichen Punkten und feiert, Night is Calling. Night is Calling, so also der Name des neuen Studiowerkes, welches in der normalen CD oder auch gern Vinyl Version mit insgesamt dreizehn neuen Songs daherkommt, und sich in der limitierten Earbook Version (300 Stück) gar mit einer Bonus CD mit weiteren dreizehn Live Songs, aufgezeichnet 2025 in Wacken, präsentiert. Dominum ist eine Band, die Spaß mit harten Klängen verbindet. Das Konzept lehnt sich an Gimmick-Bands aus dem Pirate Metal-Genre, Bands wie Powerwolf oder Bands, die als Wikinger im Viking Metal auftreten an. Heldt beschloss eine Art Zombie-Band zu gründen, da er großer Fan der Comic- und Fernsehserie The Walking Dead und Spielen, wie The Last of Us ist. Die Band tritt daher nur maskiert auf. Zum Konzept gehört, das Dr. Dead als verrückter Wissenschaftler eine Horde von Zombies kontrolliert, die die Welt zu einem besseren Ort machen will. Mein/unser erster Kontakt mit Dominum war seiner Zeit hier im Berliner Kesselhaus, wo man als Support der NDH-Band, Schattenmann, den Konzertabend eröffnete und obwohl zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch ohne erstes eigenes Album am Start, das Publikum sofort in seinen Bann zog.
Heute nun steht also Album Nummer drei an, und es geht fröhlich in die nächste Runde. Die Songs Rocken und laden wie bereits erwähnt zum Feiern ein. Powermetal trifft erneut auf gut gelaunten Piraten, in Dominums Fall, Zombie Rock Metal. Erneut veröffentlichen Dominum über Napalm Records und liefern ein Album das Abwechslungsreich und verdammt rockig herüberkommt. Eine „klassische“ Coverversion, darf hier natürlich nicht fehlen. „Natürlich?“ wird sich der eine oder andere nun fragen. Nun ja, Dominum lieferten auf ihrem Erstlingswerk bereits mit, You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) von Dead or Alive, Bad Guy von Billie Eilish und Beds Are Burning von Midnight Oil drei und mit, Rock You Like a Hurricane von den Scorpions, auf dem zweiten Werk vier Eigeninterpretationen von bekannten Klassikern. Diese „Tradition“ setzen sie nun auch auf ihrem dritten Werk fort und servieren dem Hörer ihre eigene Version von Michael Jacksons Thriller. Irgendwie mehr als passend, als Zombie Rocker. Und auch diese Coverversion trifft voll ins Schwarze, wozu man den vier Herren nur gratulieren kann.
Lange Rede und noch viel längerer Sinn, dass neue Werk lohnt sich und wird von uns mit der vollen Punktzahl und der Empfehlung zum Kauf bewertet. Also worauf wartet ihr noch?

The circus is in town, marking the start of the next chapter for the "Zombie Rockers" led by Doctor Dead. Dominum’s third album has hit the shelves and is ready to be celebrated. The band has already impressively demonstrated—on their previous releases *Hey Living People* and *The Dead Don’t Die*—that they know how to throw a killer rock party. It is no surprise that the fanbase of this Nuremberg-based band (founded in 2022) continues to grow steadily. Even *Metal Hammer* awarded the new album 6 out of 7 points, hailing *Night Is Calling* as a triumph. *Night Is Calling*—the title of this new studio effort—arrives as a standard CD or vinyl edition featuring thirteen new tracks, while the limited "Earbook" edition (strictly limited to 300 copies) boasts a bonus CD containing another thirteen live songs recorded at Wacken in 2025. Dominum is a band that fuses fun with heavy sounds. Their concept draws inspiration from gimmick-heavy acts in genres like pirate metal or Viking metal, as well as bands like Powerwolf. Heldt decided to form a zombie-themed band because he is a huge fan of *The Walking Dead* (both the comic and TV series) and games like *The Last of Us*; consequently, the band performs exclusively in costume. The concept features Dr. Dead as a mad scientist controlling a horde of zombies intent on making the world a better place. My—or rather, our—first encounter with Dominum took place at Berlin’s Kesselhaus, where they opened the show supporting the NDH band Schattenmann; despite not yet having an album of their own at the time, they immediately captivated the audience.
Now, album number three is here, kicking off the next round of the party. The songs rock hard and, as mentioned, invite listeners to celebrate. Power metal meets high-spirited pirate vibes—or in Dominum’s case, "zombie rock metal." Dominum are back with a new release via Napalm Records, delivering an album that comes across as varied and damn rocking. Naturally, a "classic" cover version simply has to be included. "Naturally?" some might be asking themselves now. Well, Dominum already delivered three cover versions of famous classics on their debut album—Dead or Alive’s "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)," Billie Eilish’s "Bad Guy," and Midnight Oil’s "Beds Are Burning"—followed by a fourth, the Scorpions’ "Rock You Like a Hurricane," on their second release. They are continuing this "tradition" on their third album by serving up their own take on Michael Jackson’s "Thriller"—a choice that feels more than fitting for a band of zombie rockers. This cover hits the mark perfectly, too; the four gentlemen deserve nothing but praise for it.
To cut a long story short: the new album is well worth it, and we give it a perfect score along with a strong recommendation to buy. So, what are you waiting for?
