Willkommen in Raven Hill, einer ehemaligen Kathedrale, umfunktioniert in eine Hölle aus Wissenschaft, Glaube und Wahnsinn in unheimlicher Koexistenz. So sollte ein jeder Hörer in das mittlerweile fünfzehten Studiowerkes, der 1991 gegründeten Symphonic-Metal Größe, Kamelot einsteigen. Begleitet die Band, ihren Hauptcharakter der Albumgeschicht und ihre vielen illustreren, in der Metalwelt bestens bekannten Gäste, auf einer Abwärtsspirale psychologischer Dunkelheit. Kamelot sind und bleiben Meister ihres Faches. Nicht ohnehin wurde die Band und ihre Alben bereits mehrfach ausgezeichnet. Auch mit ihrem neunen Werk beweisen sie ihr Können und glänzen durch musikalisches Geschick gemischt mit erzählerischen Geschichten. Verstärkung erhielt man auf dem neuen Werk dabei von Kollegen, wie Ignacia Fernández (Decessus, Miss World Chile), Clémentine Delauney (Visions Of Atlantis) oder auch Avantasia-Mastermind Tobias Sammet. Lea-Sophie Fischer (Eluveitie) spielt Violine. Rannveig Sif Sigurðardóttir und Sólveig Sara Leupold und Billy King verstärkt den orchestralen Chor, während Kiara Huber mit einer stimmungsvollen Einleitung in „Dark Asylum“ den Auftakt setzt. Ihr seht hier ist eine wirklich interessante „Mannschaft“ angetreten, um euch liebe Hörer voll in den Bann des neuen Werkes und der Welt von Kamelot willkommen zu heißen. Dark Asylum, so der name des Albums überzeugt auf ganzer Linie und tut dies mit fünfzehn beieindruckenden Stücken, die sowohl Wohlgefühl als auch Gänsehaut erzeugen. Alles andere hätte man aber wohl auch kaum von einer Formation wie Kamelot erwartet. Der werte Fan der Band als auch jeder liebhaber des symphonischen Metals und guter Erzählungen kommt hier jedenfalls voll auf seine Kosten.
Daher erhält Dark Asylum auch von uns zehn von zehn Punkten und die absolute Kaufempfehlung.

As you can see, a truly impressive lineup has come together to fully immerse you—the listener—in the world of Kamelot and this new release. *Dark Asylum* delivers on every level, featuring fifteen impressive tracks that evoke everything from a sense of well-being to spine-tingling chills. Of course, one would expect nothing less from a band like Kamelot. Devoted fans and lovers of symphonic metal and great storytelling alike will find plenty to enjoy here.
For this reason, we award *Dark Asylum* a perfect ten out of ten and give it our highest recommendation.
