Nun, zu Airbourne braucht man wohl nicht mehr viel zu sagen. Seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 2001, befinden sich die Australier, die oft und gern nicht nur mit AC/DC verglichen werden, auf Erfolgskurs. Nun steht ihr mittlerweile sechstes Studioalbum in den Verkaufsregalen. Ganze sieben Jahre mussten die Fans auf das neue Material seit der letzten Veröffentlichung, Boneshaker von 2019, warten.Zwar waren Airbourne in den letzten Jahren mit Touren und Konzertauftritten schwer beschäftigt und feierten hier weitere Erfolge, aber dennoch war es Zeit für Neues. Das Neue ist nun also endlich da, und hört auf den schlichten Namen, Airbourne. Warum, wollten auch die Fans beim Fan und Pre-listening, welches unter anderem auch in Berlin stattfand, wissen. Die kurze und einfache Antwort von Sänger, Gitarrist und Frontman, Joel O’Keeffe, lautete, „Na, weil das Album halt voll und ganz Airbourne ist“! Und wo der Mann recht hat, da hat er recht. Mit Airbourne erhält der Fan und Hörer puren Rock’n Roll ala Airbourne. Heavy, rotzig, rhythmisch und vor allem laut. Ja verdammt Laut. Und das ist auch verdammt noch mal gut so, denn genau das will der Fan und erwartet der Hörer von dieser Band. Bereits der Opener und die erste Singleauskopplung, Gutsy, zeigt die Richtung an, die dann über die gesammte Spielzeit gehalten wird, ohne auch nur eine Sekunde langweilig zu werden. Rock’N Roll zum Feiern, zum Tanzen und irgendwo auch zum Liebhaben. Wo wir gerade bei Gutsy sind, es kam die Frage auf, was Gutsy eigentlich übersetzt heißt. Nun die Antwort von Joel war etwas schwer, da er selbst nicht recht wusste, wie er es dem deutschen Publikum erklären sollte. Es ist das Gefühl für alles, was einfach Spaß macht und Cool ist. Man einigte sich schließlich auf ein anderes bekanntes Wort. „G..l“ (Da es bestimmte Medien gibt, in denen ein solches mittlerweile völlig gebräuchliches Wort schon gegen die Richtlinien verstößt, bitten wir dieses Kürzel hier zu entschuldigen
) Auf alle Fälle trifft Gutsy genau den Nagel auf den Kopf. Airbourne, sowohl als Band als auch das neue Album ist genau so und nicht anders zu beschreiben.Volle Punktzahl und Kaufempfehlung von uns an dieser Stelle. Rock on und Bang Your Head!

Well, there’s not much left to say about Airbourne. Since forming in 2001, the Australians—who are frequently compared to AC/DC—have been on a winning streak. Now, their sixth studio album has hit the shelves. Fans had to wait a full seven years for new material following their previous release, 2019’s *Boneshaker*. Although Airbourne had been busy touring and performing—enjoying continued success along the way—it was time for something new. That new release is finally here, bearing the simple title *Airbourne*. Fans at a pre-listening event (held in Berlin, among other cities) wanted to know the reason behind the name. The short, simple answer from singer, guitarist, and frontman Joel O’Keeffe was: "Well, because the album is just pure Airbourne through and through!" And he’s absolutely right. With *Airbourne*, fans and listeners get rock ’n’ roll in true Airbourne style: heavy, gritty, rhythmic, and—above all—loud. Yes, damn loud. And that’s a damn good thing, because that’s exactly what fans want and listeners expect from this band. The opening track and lead single, "Gutsy," sets the tone for the entire album, maintaining that energy without a single dull moment. It’s rock ’n’ roll for partying, dancing, and—in a way—loving. Speaking of "Gutsy," the question arose as to what the word actually means in translation. Joel found it a bit tricky to answer, as he wasn't quite sure how to explain it to a German audience. It captures the feeling of anything that’s simply fun and cool. Eventually, they settled on a different, familiar word. "A..ing" (Since there are certain media outlets where such a word—nowadays completely commonplace—violates guidelines, please excuse this abbreviation here
) In any case, *Gutsy* hits the nail right on the head. That is exactly how Airbourne—both the band and the new album—can be described.Full marks and a recommendation to buy from us. Rock on and bang your head!
